<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible">Use <span style="font-weight:bold;">FontWork</span> to create various text effects. These effects can be assigned to text objects created with the draw functions on the main toolbar (icon <help:link Id="66034">Show Draw Functions</help:link>).</help:help-text></p>

<p class="Paragraph">You can align the selected text object with FontWork to "invisible" semicircles, arcs, circles and freeform lines. You can replace this alignment object at any time by another alignment object.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">The <span class="T1">FontWork</span> command is found in the <span class="T1">Format</span> menu as soon as a draw element in a text document is selected. The FontWork functions are only active for text objects.</p>
<p class="Head2">Alignment icons</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_CTL_FORMS" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="hide" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">In this area, you can assign selected text the shape of a semicircle, a circular arc or a closed circle.</help:help-text> There are various icons at the top of the <span class="T1">FontWork</span> window. Click one of them to modify the selected text in the document accordingly.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">The top row contains icons for different semicircle forms. Here you can choose among <text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/><span class="T1">upper semicircle</span>, <span class="T1">lower semicircle</span>, <span class="T1">left semicircle</span> and <span class="T1">right semicircle</span>.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">The second row contains icons for text alignment in the form of an arc: <span class="T1">upper arc</span>, <span class="T1">lower arc, left show</span> and <span class="T1">right arc</span>.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">In the last row, you can choose between the following alignment options: <span class="T1">open circle, closed circle, closed circle II</span> and <span class="T1">open circle vertical</span>.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_TBI_STYLE_OFF" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click the <span class="T1">Off</span> icon to cancel the text object adaptation.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_TBI_STYLE_ROTATE" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click the <span class="T1">rotate </span><text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/>icon to rotate the characters of the text object so that their base stands on the contour line of the aligned object.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_TBI_STYLE_UPRIGHT" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">If you click the <span class="T1">Upright</span> icon you will keep the original alignment of the individual characters. The text object follows the contour line of the aligned object. </help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_TBI_STYLE_SLANTX" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click the <span class="T1">Slant Horizontal</span> icon to slant the characters of the text object horizontally.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_TBI_STYLE_SLANTY" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click the <span class="T1">Slant Vertical</span> icon to slant the characters of the text object vertically.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_TBI_ADJUST_MIRROR" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click <span class="T1">Orientation</span> to reverse the text flow direction.</help:help-text> Use this option, for example, to arrange the text below instead of above the contour line of the aligned object.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_TBI_ADJUST_LEFT" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click <span class="T1">Align Left</span> to align the text to the left of the object.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_TBI_ADJUST_CENTER" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click <span class="T1">Center</span> to align the text to the middle of the object.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_TBI_ADJUST_RIGHT" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click <span class="T1">Align Right</span> to align the text to the right of the object.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_TBI_ADJUST_AUTOSIZE" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click <span class="T1">AutoSize Text</span> to adjust the font size so that the text object fits to the entire contour line.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="SVX_METRICFIELD_RID_SVXDLG_FONTWORK_MTR_FLD_DISTANCE" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">In the <span class="T1">Distance</span> <help:popup Id="65630" Eid="drehfeld">spin box</help:popup>, enter the space between the baseline of the individual characters and the aligned object.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="SVX_METRICFIELD_RID_SVXDLG_FONTWORK_MTR_FLD_TEXTSTART" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">In the <text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/><span class="T1">Indent</span> spin box, enter the distance between the contour line of the aligned object and the beginning of the text.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_TBI_OUTLINE" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click <span class="T1">Text Contour</span> to activate or deactivate the border of individual characters in a text object.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_TBI_SHADOW_OFF" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click <span class="T1">No Shadow</span> if you do not want the text to be displayed with a shadow.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_TBI_SHADOW_NORMAL" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click <span class="T1">Vertical</span> to apply a vertical shadow behind the individual text characters.</help:help-text> Enter the distance between the text characters and the shadow in the respective spin boxes.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_FONTWORK_TBI_SHADOW_SLANT" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click <span class="T1">Slant</span> to apply a slanted shadow behind the individual characters of the text characters.</help:help-text> In the spin boxes, enter the slant angle and the size of the shadow in relation to the original font size.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">In the <span class="T1">Distance X</span> spin box, define the horizontal distance between the shadow and the text characters.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">In the <text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/><span class="T1">Distance Y</span> spin box, define the vertical distance between the shadow and the text characters.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">In this list box you can select a shadow color.</help:help-text></p>
